Know Yourself, but Why?

One thing I have learned over the years is that you need to know how you function in order to apply yourself to Life in the most efficient way.

If I know that I don't like to do anything with visuals & designs, I will pass that task to somebody else whether that's a business decision or at home situation. If I know that sunsets make me feel happy, I will look at them (even if it's just a picture) before some important meeting to translate that energy.

So basically, the better is your understanding of how you work, the better you can manage life situations & happier you are throughout.

Sounds easy, right?

But what I have also came across is that so many people do not want to know much about themselves (grasshoppers chirp).

It's a task and a half to get anybody to complete a questionnaire about themselves & even harder to get them to see what that means for them & how it can be used.

I'm not complaigning, just an observation.

Often times, approaching Self-Development, people will go with what they "already know", like what parents or friends used to say about them growing up, or what they have red in their horoscopes.

All that information has its place & potential, but often too broad, useless and can even be harmful. Simply because people use it as an excuse to get out of something or a reason to complicate things more, than needs be.

This behaviour has nothing to do with Self-Development & will definetely not propel you anywhere in life.

So what to do?

Start with the things you supposedly know about yourself. Write them down and challenge your knowledge:

- First look at how it makes you feel? Are you happy with being that way?

- Does it get you the results that you want?

- Then, find situations in your own life, when that was not the case.

- & going forwards, would you like to keep knowing that about yourself or would you like to find out what is your true potential?

Once you have the answers apply them to your 2025 resolutions list :) & I'm sure, that way your year will definitely have some great surprises for you in store.

Until the next time,

Renata Dar
